Amazon sellers are left confused after receiving an email from Amazon stating that Avalara will be leaving the Amazon VAT services program. Sellers must appoint a new VAT representative before 1st of November 2024 when Avalara will cease their partnership with Amazon. The last filing by Amazon will be Q3 for quarterly filings and October for monthly filing and failure to appoint a new representative could create huge compliance issues for Amazon Sellers.
Avalara withdraws from Amazon VAT services
Avalara was Amazons first VAT partner when they originally launced the program to assist Amazon sellers in registering for VAT. Avalara helped to complete VAT compliance in the PAN EU countries including France, Germany, Spain,. Italy, Czech and Poland and have been a major part in their growth. It seems Avalara are changing focus, discontinuing new seller onboarding and terminating contracts with current clients. This has sent panic and confusion amongst Amazon sellers which can be demonstrated in the Amazon Forums, read more here.
