Following the proposed reforms of Vat in the Digital Age (ViDA), the French authorities have responded to concerns raised by businesses and software companies about the proposed time line of July 2024. This follows Germany’s delay, moving their date to 2026, which France look to have mirrored, although this is not yet confirmed when the new deadline will be. This will give delays to the full VIDA roll out plans in France, as delaying the initial e-invoicing deadline will have a knock-on effect for the rest of the process.
Initially, the French roll out of e-invoicing was to take part in three stages between 2024 and 2026, with each of the waves being determined by company size. It has not yet been determined how the delayed roll out will take place, if these same plans will be followed just at a later date. Equally, the new date is yet to be confirmed.
